AFFORDABILITY
Health innovation has advanced rapidly, but affordability has not kept pace Billions remain outside effective coverage, and millions who live in advanced health systems still cannot consistently afford the medicines they need.
GLOBAL REALITY
The World Health Organization reports that 4.6 billion people were not fully covered by essential health services in 2023, and 2.1 billion people faced financial hardship from health spending in 2022.
UNITED STATES REALITY
Affordability is also a domestic problem. RAND found that U.S. prescription drug prices averaged 2.78 times those in 33 comparison countries.
The medicines exist. Advancements in medicines, vaccines and medical devices, can now deliver treatments that we know work for those that can afford the medicines.
Access 4 One works to develop affordable and sustainable pathways for access to these key medicines to people who are in greatest need
WHY THIS MATTERS TO DONORS
Donors increasingly want durable leverage, not only short-run subsidy. A model that lowers the cost of affordable launch can create repeatable benefits across therapeutic areas, health systems, and countries.
